Fall — stockpile and set up winter

Last growth, reserves, and stand assessment while decisions are cheap.

Fall is the last easy chance to set winter and next spring up for success.

Grass: Use the last meaningful growth deliberately — graze some, stockpile some.
Animals / density: Balance fall harvest against reserve need; do not chase every blade.
Trees: Heat eases; leaders still need protection. Decide which paddocks stay off-limits when dormant grazing gets convenient — establishment.

Walk thinning stands now (problem stands) while rest and reseeding decisions are cheaper than in mud season. Next: winter. Year spine: Mid-Atlantic pasture year.
